It may have been cold outside, but Block 37 was burning up. Celebrity Chicago was there in full force to raise money and have fun. Some of the best bistros in town were showing their best for party goers as they ate and drank. The room read like a who’s who of Chicago with names like Jonny Imerman, Billy Dec, Candace Jordan, Borris Powell, and the lovely Val Warner from “Windy City Live’ helped Jodi Fyfe inspire and celebrate for Bright Pink’s Annual Fund Raiser, Tickled Pink. Chitownstarconnections had the pleasure of being invited to join in the fun.
Think of everything that is sweet and good. This was definitely not a weekend for the dieter. Partiers nibbled on yummies from Candyality, Glossed and Infused, and my fave was there from Magnolia, only the best banana pudding in town. Foodies could feast on the classic goodies from such places as Sunda, Rockit, The Purple Pig, Hash House a Go Go, Jellyfish, Hutch, Heaven on Seven and many others. Chicago Players turned it up a notch to get the crowd dancing.
Of course the most touching part of the evening was when Jodi Fyfe told everyone in attendance that this was the time of year that her cousin Carrie Kenney passed away. Carrie was a young victim of breast cancer and suffered for seven years tragically dying at the age of 35 in 2004. Carrie wanted to keep that spirit alive and so she formed Tickled Pink. Today Tickled Pink encourages young girls to become educated and gives support to young victims of breast and ovarian cancer. She also said that next year would be the tenth anniversary of the first Tickled Pink event and urged everyone to just wait because it would be the best ever. We can’t wait!!!!
Here is founder Jodi Fyfe, Lindsay Avner, WCL’s own Val Warner, and gal about town Candace Jordan..it was great joining women like this for such a good cause. Thanks a lot to Yvette Marie Dostatni for this great pic…
