On August 10, the stars came out for a good cause. The Wood Family Foundation hosted the first annual “Wiffle Ball Classic” at Wrigley Field. Families and companies played all day , but then the real fun started.
“More stars than the heavens” populated the Friendly Confines. These included local celebs Janet Davies of 190 North and “Mr Chicago” Billy Dec. The most exciting part was getting to meet some of our favorite celebs from the entertainment world. In passing, we got to see Bill Murray . We got really excited when we actually got to meet George Wendt , best known as everyone’s favorite barfly, “Norm.” Cutting quite a dashing figure was Adam Rodriquez formerly of “CSI Miami” . Jen and I were amazed at how tall that Neil Flynn aka “the Janitor” of “Scrubs” was. But the best part of the day was getting to see one of our favorites. Matthew Perry is known to be quite an athlete and we were both curious to see if this was the case. As you well know, Matthew is best known for the role of “Chandler” on one of our all time faves, “Friends” The teams were separated into two groups, the Reds and the Blues. The Blues were victorious with all the money going to the Wood Family Foundation. The foundation aids children in the Chicago area. One of the major event sponsors was Walgreens.
