Once again McCormick Place came to life as vendors and customers embraced their inner child for the NCA’s Sweets and Snacks Expo. We counted the days and prepared for the extravaganza! No diets here!
The great folks at Mars we’re great in making sure we were well taken care of. They took care of our caffeine needs and furnished us with samples of their newest products. Celebrities were on hand for the fun as well. Singer/Actor Nelly made an appearance courtesy of Mike and Ike. He took a little time for photos as well.
The main attraction was just walking around and seeing all the treats, from healthy to the sweet. What was really exciting were the innovations. There was powdered peanut butter and salmon jerky. There were every flavor of popcorn imaginable. Along with the innovations were the old favorites. Wrigley is still a mainstay in Chicago and Gourmet treats from the Hershey’s kitchen. Fashion is now a part of the candy universe. Major brands have merchandise like M&M’s ear buds and Just Born’s Peeps socks. We even saw a lady who made candy into lovely pieces of jewelry. My favorite was Chara and her Louis Vuitton pump made of chocolate.
Whatever your pleasure, it was sure to be at the Sweets and Snacks Expo take a look at our favorite.s Oh great I have a taste for something sweet! Darn I don’t think I have anything LOL!
