Saturday, we were privileged to attend the fourth annual “Rock the Red Fashion Show” The founders of the Red Pump Project Luvvie Ajayi and Karyn Watkins were the hosts of the stylish event. Every 47 minutes a a woman will be diagnosed with HIV in the United States and the girls mission is to educate and empower women to be able to control this epidemic and give support to those already living with it or affected by it.
As a representative of Walgreens, Donald Williams spoke of the commitment that the company had for the Red Pump Project. It just reminds me of the dedication and belief a company can have in an organization. Walgreens has been a part of this since the beginning. Lora Branch was honored as the Ultimate Red Pump Rocker. As Associate Director in the Government Affairs divison of Gilead Sciences she urges the crowd to stay vigilant because the numbers are going down “This is indeed encouraging”
Attendees listend to the jams of DJ Bonsu, drank St Claire Vodka, and nibbled on treats by Eclat Tapas. The Main attraction was the fashion show produced by “Benjamin Cottrell Designs” The models wore designs by the edgy Archer Townsend, the breezy Stix&Roses, The stylish Dressmaker by Olivia, and 828 Collection. The fun didn’t end DJ Bonsu continued to play jams as everyone danced and mingled.
