Grey Goose Vodka provided an exciting night last Monday at Vertigo. Guests had come to witness Punch Wars . The best mixologists in Chicago challenged themselves to concoct a punch that tasted great and made a splash with the judges. While the artists were at work , guests feasted on appetizers that were provided by Vertigo and the Dana. Two rounds of competition featured eleven contestants. I got to try some of the punches and I must say that they were good, but there was one I actually preferred. That was Lynn House of Blackbird’s Diamonds and Pearls. It had pear flavored Grey Goose in it and fruit . Coincidentally, Lynn was chosen the winner of the Punch Wars. She will go to Miami in October to compete in the national competition. Second place went to Drumbar ‘s Benjamin Newby. He added a little special champagne to make his punch sparkle. Third place went to Liz Pearce of the Drawing Room. Her drink also had a nice fruity flavor. Not only that her enthusiasm was contagious. Congrats to all the winners.
The view from Vertigo , facing Holy Name Cathedral. One word , gorgeous
That is what I call a snack. Burgers, crab cakes, chicken, and pulled pork sliders were enough to get the crowd psyched to cheer on their favorite bar tender.
Grey goose is always my liquor of choice. Makes the best cocktails.
Benjamin ponders what to add to his punch next. I know it will be good because his drinks are always delicious
Lynn of Blackbird was so cool and professional as she mixed her drinks. Love her little oufit.
Liz has a good feeling about her cocktail. It worked because she came in third in the competition.
After a long process, the judges award the top three prizes. Everyone did work hard.
Here I am with the winner who is going to represent Chicago in October in Miami
Hot Chicago at night!
