I must admit it was a pretty exciting experience to cover the 47th annual Chicago International Film Festival. I had been to the festival in previous years seeing such great films as “Against the Current” and “TRUST” It was also a treat last year to attend the Q and A with the director of the movie. TRUST. But from the time I found out I would be covering this year’s film festival , I was really psyched. My fellow bloggers had their fashion weeks and gourmet weeks and this one would be all mine. I also thought I could do a little networking for my own career as well.
I only got to see a couple of films , unfortunately , and one of them I couldn’t even write a review because of a request from the distribution company. The other film was a documentary called The Eye Has to Travel. It was the awe inspiring story of Diane Vreeland , the editor of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and she took her sense of style and made it the world’s . She was an incredible woman and she inspired me to reach for my own dreams. I wanted to see the film A Week with Marilyn, but unfortunately didn’t get to view it.
One of the high lights of the festival was the Red Carpet and it was so cool being on the edge as Anthony walked along it for the press. I got to meet some really interesting people that night and actually got a gig out of the experience. Anthonys’ story was also an inspiration to me as an aspiring actress. Maybe next year I will get to see more and cover it in its entirety, but for a novice , it was an exciting experience.
