A great way to spend a Saturday is to spend it with the girls . And the best way to cap it off is with a great dinner. Union Sushi and Barbecue Bar appears to be one of those pretentious River North establishments from the outside. But from the moment you see the interior with its cool murals, you know you are in for a fun evening.
With a friendly greeting, our server, Sean, knew exactly what we might enjoy. He made some excellent suggestions. We took his recommendation and ordered the mushroom dumpling. Our only mistake was only ordering one helping and we won’t make that again.
Sushi was next on the agenda and we faced a dilemma. Jen didnt want anything that was too spicy and I had already decided I wanted the rainbow roll. Sean told us about his favorite , the Chesapeake roll with oyster in it. Never trying it before, we found it quite delicious.
All of the food is prepared fresh and barbecued in front of you. Union Sushi and BBQ also boasts some pretty amazing cocktails and sake flights as well. I do know this, it was a very pleasant outing and I plan to return to this delightful place very soon.
