You would think on a hot summer night , the last thing someone would want is a toasted cheese sandwich. Cheesies does something special with each sandwich. They pair meat, spices and different cheeses together to make sandwiches that satisfy and will fill you up. Breads like sour dough and Texas toast are added to accompany the mix. Each sandwich is paired with a dip sauce. i enjoyed the” classic “because I love ham and i thought the tomato soup dip wasnt too spicy, but did have a good zing to it. The “frenchie” tasted like a baked potato on bread with its french fries and sour cream dip. The side I tried was their six cheese mac and cheese. Bringing my friend, the self proclaimed cheese a holic she insisted on trying it. Only one mac and cheese does it for Jen , but this was close . She said it was the second best mac and cheese she had. This is high praise indeed. It’s creaminess and tang melted in my mouth.
Cheesie’s has that special feel with its eclectic artwork and walls with the color of cheddar cheese. It is warm , cozy and all alcoholic beverages are just four dollars. ! And that goes for all day. Cheesie’s is located at 958 W Belmont and on the weekends is open late for that post partying snack.
